“Surpriseeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!”

Oh-my-gawd! Today was like THE ultimate—hah! My besties threw me a surprise birthday party today… and-I-was-flabbergasted! (Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh… *covers mouth*)

Everyone I met that day was in on it—including mom, dad, Shan and Ming Hui!

It started in the morning at like 10-ish when mom came in and she insisted I woke up. She was all like, “Wake up, Ru! Don’t laze the day away! Wake Up! Go brush your teeth! Wake up! When you wanna get up then huh? When’s your next driving lesson? Called Pak Cik Baha adi anot? Wake up ahh, before I leave for work harr!!”

(Okay, you win you win mom! I’ll get up! I’ll get up!) So FINALLY I got up at like 1030. Had nothing to do so I decided to go online. Signed into MSN and not long after that, *ding*--Ming Wai had sign in too. We conversed.

He asked if I’d go over to play xbox and watch some funny youtube vids. Then said that we’ll go back to my place to “lepak” then only return to his place for xbox but kept ignoring this sentence I repeatedly typed, “(Ming Wai), there ain’t nything to do here…” I was wondering why but I didn’t ask it out loud.

He called and asked me if I was gonna come up soon but I told him I wasn’t coming up til 1200 cause that’s when Ricky Sprocket ends. Heh.

How I suppose to know my beloved friends were actually already in the building and they were just waiting for me to get out from the house. Haha…

So went over, watched the Wan brothers ‘search and kill’ each other, heard Ming Hui wickedly play his guitar, played a li’l xbox with Ming Wai then suddenly, out of the blue, he suggested that we go for lunch. (But I had no money with me) So had to go back home to get money.

Got home. Saw Dominos pizza, fizzy drinks, a chocolate coated cake among other stuff on the table. Saw handbags on the couch BUT failed to notice the MANY pairs of shoes near the shoe rack! Gosh!

Then Shan had her “uh-oh” face on and what seemed like a very looooooooong 5 seconds afterwards, “SURRPPRISSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!”
I saw so many familiar faces pop from the corridor! Hahaha… Neb and I are just 2 days away, so we celebrated this one together! =D

"Happy 18th Birthday (in advance) to you too, Neb darling!"

It went on from there. Couldn’t stop saying “Thank you! Thank you!” (Hahaha…) ‘cause I really couldn’t thank them enough! We ate, played games, had ‘presents opening session’, took ‘family photos’ (haha!!), watched a li’l Little Britain and did larr what most normal post SPMers normally do. *sticks tongue out*

Yi Lin helping Neb put on her new earrings.

Just chillin'.

Neb embracing her cute teddy bears from Ming Wai & Kheng Lam.

"Ooo gimme somma that cake!"

Happy Family photo!

Happy Family Gone Crazy photo!

Ru LOVES her girls!

Darn, I am so blessed with besties like them!

After sending Divya, Nicole, Elaine and Kheng Lam home, the rest of us got naked and headed for the swimming pool! Hah!

"What do we do we swim, swim, swim!"

Yi Lin and Jessie slightly after some water-fun.

Neb just chillin' after her swim.

I'd like to dedicate this post to one of my dearest friends, Miss Stephanie Lim, in conjunction with her 18th birthday!! It was a celebration by the poolside but some extended the joys of her birthday to the pool (Hahaha...) It was a blast!! Some good, 'clean' fun and it's a birthday she'll probably never forget!!

Goodbye Malacca, Hello KL!

Popo woke me up the same she did yesterday. Haha… I guess that’s how she usually wakes people up. *shrugs*

I’m just gonna give you the highlighted events of the day, ‘kay.

Today we traveled back to KL.

Before we left Cheng Heights, on the way down, I saw a poor li'l lizard which had gotten squashed between the elevator wall and the fiberglass. =( "Poor li’l creature… its fate was to be an ‘elevator wall deco’ at such a tender young lizard age." Tsk tsk tsk…

Had second breakfast in Nilai.

…Three words: NASI LOMAK POWER! (Nope. I didn’t misspell the word ‘lemak’… that IS the name of the stall.) Darn, they have one of the yummiest nasi lemak I’ve ever tasted, mann. If you happen to be traveling from south to north, don’t forget to stop by Nilai for some nasi lemak, ‘kay? Trust me, you won’t regret it. Plus, it’s affordable! =)

Reached North Point at about 1130.

Later that afternoon, went to Mid Valley with mommy and daddy.

Did a li’l shoppin’.

Was queuing to pay for our goodies at the AUSSINO counter and so happened that the lady queuing behind me seemed to be buying more stuff than she can carry. She stood so close to me that every time we move forward, the corners of her boxes would poke me in the back and it hurts, not to mention it’s irritating as well. So I tahan larr right. I don’t blow at people unless I can’t keep it in any longer. So I continue allowing the corners of her bed sheet boxes to occasionally jab my back. “Arghh!!” And just as I was about to snap at her, I saw her protruding belly. So I turned all soft and I decided that I was not gonna yell at a pregnant lady. So I just left her be. Few minutes later, she started asking me questions bout prices and whatnot and I did a whole lotta smiling and shrugging. I was standing three people behind the person paying already and suddenly she decides to grab another item and so she asked me to chup chup her place as she’ll be back in a jiffy. She just needed to get another bed sheet. So I smiled and said, “Okay.” Only then did I realize that she was in fact NOT pregnant. Heh. She was just a li’l generous at the belly, if you know what I mean. (i.e. it was just her tummy flab). So ‘nyways, I couldn’t be anymore bothered. I just wanted to pay and wooosh outta there! And that was exactly what I did.

In a way I was glad I didn’t blow at her lorr. It wouldn’t have been a nice scene either. Hahaha… Thank goodness for patience! Whoooooooh! =D

Cheers!

Yaaozah!!

Popo stormed into the room, opened all the windows and woke me up then switched off the air-con before she left, “Ah Ru, qi lai larr! Qi tian duo liao larr!” (“Ru, get up! It’s 7-something already!”)

Had breakfast, blablablah… the usual…

First destination: My Hairdresser, Maria’s place.

Got there early. I went in straight… and wasn’t straight ‘nymore when I came out. Wheeeeeeeeh! Hahahahahahahahahahaa… (Hah! Bet some of ya’all were thinkin’ of the other kinda ‘straight’, in’it??) No! I’m not a homo… yet. Haha! =P Okay, so ‘nyways, got my hair done and was prepared to go see my ‘eye-lady’ next.

Second destination: My Optician, Pan Ow.

Got there at bout close to noon. Got my eyes checked. Got my lenses changed. And was told to return anytime after 1500 to collect my glasses. So, to wile time away, my grandparents decided to do a li’l shopping and go check out the ‘new’ place opposite Makhota ParadeDataran Pahlawan.

Third destination: Dataran Pahlawan.

Did a whole lotta walkin’ there. Help grandparents do their grocery shopping in the newly-opened Carrefour. Had lunch there. The claypot chicken rice (sa bo kai fan) with salted fish (ham yu… pronounced ‘yee’, ‘kay) was delectable. So we left after lunch which was about 1430. Still early larr, so Popo decided to go pick up her jars of kuih kapit.

Fourth destination: The Kuih Kapit maker, Ah Ing’s place.

Ooooooo… the kuih kapits which grandma’s friend, Ah Ing, makes are fantabulous! They’re so thick and so creamy. (Horr Yi Lin, horr??) Those of you who have tasted it over at my home oughtta know too. Hehehe… And wow, all that ‘kuih magic’ happens in her cozy home in Tengkera. “Mm mmm good!”

Got my glasses from the optician a li’l before 1500 and headed back home.
Day went by… dawdled around til dinner.
Went to bed early that night. Slept after I sent out a few text messages.

Goodbye KL, Hello Malacca!

Was woken up by Popo at like 0715! Got ready and we hit the road at 0800—haha! We had peanut biscuits for breakfast and then later we had fried vermicelli and chicken for second breakfast (mid morning ‘snack’)! =P

We arrived in Malacca at about a quarter past ten and headed straight for the house to unload all them stuff first. Then the day slowly went by… I did a lot of idling, and then decided to get occupied by digging out my old family photos. Fuyohh! So stuffy sial… air wasn’t rushing in through the windows and that room got no fan some more!! When I finally got my hands on them photos… it was all worth it—sweating, sniffing dust then sneezing and all. Haha… Switched the air-con on and cooled down in my room. After showering, we went for dinner. Had ‘village chickens’ (kampung kai) for dinner—haha!

After dinner, I did more idling and daydreaming. Later that night, I went through one box of photographs. It was sooooooo interesting. Sadly, I couldn’t enjoy them with anybody else at that time. =( The photographs brought back so many memories. I literally smiled and laughed to myself as I was flipping through ‘em. I also shed some tears; happy tears that is, when I read some of the photo captions. *smile*

Afterwards, got nothing to do liao so I decided to make an imaginary friend up—haha! I was inspired by Ben and her diary comics… hehe.

“Everyone, meet Benrik.” *grin*

"So go... get inspired... and have an imaginary friend of your own!"

The night before... at Gram's (North Point)

Was supposed to leave Seri Maya (home) at 1630… BUT… when the clock struck 1625… *dark clouds appear*… *thunder*… “Alamak! Raining ahhh!!” …*lighting and all*… So had to wait lorr for the rain to slow down, but the rain was not gonna give up so soon so eventually got Shan to ‘umbrella me’ to the car at bout 1655.

Was drenched in rain water when I hoped into the car—haha! And to make matters worse… there were mini flash floods here and there which ultimately led to a massive traffic jam!! Argh! From what would normally have taken us 15 to 20 minutes to travel from here to Mid Valley, today it took us roughly an hour to arrive at North Point! And that one also because we took the SMART Tunnel… if not?? Tsk tsk tsk…

Arrived at bout 6-ish and on my way up, I bumped into Michelle’s honey-buns, Choon Fong (better known as Mr Tham though)! Heh! Small world eh?

Got comfy and when Benette came home from work (we hug hug and all), then we had dinner together. Dinner (prepared by Popo) was yummy, as usual! Hahaha… Later that night, Ben and I sat down at the dining table and we sipped tea (well, actually I had Milo larr but that’s not important, so never mind) and ate biscuits while we had a good, deep, loooooong chat… til like two in the morning! Haha…

Couldn’t really sleep yet so after I brushed my teeth, I decided to clip my nails. Long adi marr… mai cut lorr. At the beginning it didn’t occur to me that clipping my nails in the middle of the night could bring any harm, so I proceeded to clipping ‘em. Then halfway through it, I said out loud, “Oh crap!!” I stopped for a while and froze cause I remembered somebody told me that clipping nails middle of the night is like taboo. And we’re like forbidden to do so because it'll bring bad luck and may cause a visit from the dead or something liddat larr!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh… I was on the bed and I was scared sh!tless, ‘kay?! So afraid to look into the mirror (suddenly got something standing behind me how??) or even look out the window (just in case I glimpsed two BIG eyes staring at me from the other side of the glass) and like didn’t wanna turn behind to look over my shoulder also (I literally kept my head still and turned my whole body when I needed to gostan weii.) It was so creepy! Yet so funny and compelling all at the same time! Haha! (Okay, maybe I am a li’l sick for saying that, but it was.) So anyway, I decided to faster faster switch off the lights and crawl back to bed. Thing was, it was a queen size bed! Can you imagine? Me? Already so small… sleeping on a queen size bed… alone? There’d be so much more space on the bed!! And THAT was what was so creepy bout it—the fact that there so much space on the bed that when I ter-open my eyes turn while turning to my left, I might find an eyelid-less long haired girl lying next to me or stare a rotting Boogeyman in the face!! *shivers* Eeeeeeee… geli sial!

So nyways, I plugged my iPod on and drowned myself in (loud rock-ish) music and eventually fell asleep.
