Day out with Cousin Ben and Ching(y)

Was late for breakfast this morning thanks to well… me and the human-jam in the LRT station!

Arrived at 0937 in KDU. Met up with Benette and Chingy Ching Ching.

[Ben's baby boy, Ching, he’s cool… y’know, decent-looking-nice-guy, funny, has this thing for disabled people (he’s fascinated by ‘em) and thought this handless-and-legless dude who managed to light a match was super cool!]

Anywho, we had breakfast in the campus cafeteria. He paid for breakfast. So paiseh eh but they insisted so I graciously accepted. “Thanks you horr.” *nod and grin*

After breakfast, we went to enquire ‘bout my H&T course. Jeremy, the education counselor is this soft-spoken guy who is indeed very informative. A neat fact ‘bout Jeremy: He has training in writing words backwards (towards you, if he’s sitting directly opposite you). Considered neat larr his backwards writing. Even he-himself IS proud of this skill he has acquired when prompted ‘bout it.) Cool in’it? Heh.

After gathering all the information I needed, the three of us headed to Ching’s place to grab his car to teman Ben to her potential driving school. Sadly, when we got there, everyone seems to have left the building for “lunch” at like ELEVEN O’CLOCK?! Haha… There were only two men inside; one was sewing vests and jackets the other one was busy yelling (more like barking really) at the person on the other side of the line. Tsk tsk tsk… And then Ben and I went on to making it a joke saying like imagine if this man were to be our father and he’s barking at us at the top of his voice liddat only because we didn’t throw the trash out last night or some some—ahahahhahahaha, gosh!

So anywho, we waited a few then entually decided to head home. Guess Benny is gonna havta return there again real soon. [Oh and all the BEST to you babe throughout your experience in obtaining that big ol’ ‘P’! Hehehe…]

To kill a li’l more time, we chilled in Ching’s room. …until he had to go for class while Benny and I head for North Point. [Just have to say, Ben and Ching are like super fun to hang with. Can't thank them enough for babysitting me and taking time off their schedule to have breakfast with me.]

Arrived in North Point at about half past noon. Basically acted like nothing ‘ny lorr… all ice cool and stuff. Thankfully grandmamma was in a good mood also larr I guess—lucky me—heh!

Hanged in Ben’s room for a bit while she got her stuff organized. And get this, while discussing ‘bout where to have lunch and whatnot, Ben was brushing her teeth! She’s just brushing her teeth… at like ONE in the AFTERNOON! Ahah… I know dentist and adverts always urge us to brush our teeth three times a day, after every meal and yadaa yadaa… but it’s been awhile since I’ve actually done that myself and/or known anyone who literally does it. Interesting~~… here’s proof!

Ben's toothbrush advert!
Try it today! (with funny advert music)

After Benny’s teeth-brushing session, we proceeded to Mid Valley for lunch. Went down with Grandpa in the lift... and realized: Grandpa wears CROCS! Ahaha... How cute!

Maybe I should get him some Jibbitz for his Crocs next Christmas.

Ben and I had Toast Box. Benny ordered this bread with like chicken floss on it. =)

Ben and her Chicken Floss bread.

Ru and Ben's Chicken Floss bread.

And... "drum roll please"...
Introducing: THE Chicken Floss bread
...by itself. Haha...

So okay, after lunch, we did a li'l shoppin' before proceeding to Taylor's College of H&T.
While shopping... We found:

3.90 Oral-Me, baby!

Hahahahahahahahahaha... Goodness, that sounds sooooooooo wrong!

A spoof of Oral-B perhaps? But then again... Oral-Me????? Oh come on! What were they thinking? I can just imagine a scene where a mom and her son are like shoppin' for hygiene products and the mom goes:

Mom: Ah boy, what else would ju like?
Son : Oh Oral-Me mommy! Oral-Me!!

Ahah! Oh gawd!

Foooosh! O-kay, 'nuff 'bout orals.
The ride there (in the commuter) was fun and like didn't seem THAT long. Maybe cause I had Benny next to me, talking to me and keeping me company. In a way, I felt safe. It was so sweet of her to accompany me to Taylor's and like take time off from her day and spend it with me.
And then right, cause she didn't get a return ticket earlier so she had to buy another one for the return trip and when I heard her speak Malay to the KTM dude selling tickets, was like damn funny sial!

Ben: (Asking Ru) Where are we going again?
Ru: Um, Mid Valley.
After she got her ticket...
Ben to the KTM dude: (In a very amusing-foreign-accent) Kalau saya beli sekarang, boleh guna... later, right?
Ru: Omg... Ben, your BM is...
Ben: Aik, shaddub!
Both of us burst out into laughter while the KTM dude (who apparently didn't think it was very funny) was like stoning at the both of us
—ahahahha...

'Nywho, Got in (Taylor's H&T building)—got all the information I needed from the education counselor, Joan Toan and got outta there.
Haha, even Ben exclaimed, “Huh? That’s it? So fast!”

We were all clammy and literally covered with sweat (eew-wy!) in the KTM station while waiting for the oh-so-not-punctual-train to arrive. …and Ben was tempting me with an invitation to the pool and a bikini was even on the line—haha! But as enticing as the offer was (considering it was friggin’ hot) I had to reluctantly decline her offer cause I didn’t want to get caught up in the human-jam home later.

We made our way home separately (from KL Central)… {hug, hug, kiss, kiss}
Went home with Jordin Sparks’ Tattoo plugged on.

Got home, sat in front of the fan which was spinning at its top speed and like stoned there until I was completely cooled off. (I know, not good to sit in front of the fan liddat. Foong sap and whatnot right? But I was super hot, ‘kay?) And when I was no longer sweaty, I went to lie on the bed and naturally, I fell asleep.

[Thanks again you guys! Kisses!]

SPM Results!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.. Woi! Seriously wei… Who has the exact date as to when our SPM Results are popping up? <=(

Ini amat mencemaskan laaa… haish.

Seriously, it didn’t really hit me until I received a call this morning from Nebby asking me if the hearsay were true,

“Wei, Ru… Is it true?”
“Huh? Is what true?”
“SPM Results. Coming out this Thursday.”
“Huh?? Seriously? Wei, don’t scare me liddat larr.”

…Then she went on telling me how the tittle-tattle came to her.

Nywho, that ain’t the focus of today’s topic.
Thing is, I too hear of so many many other dates. Here, I’ll list ‘em out (if got some more, lemme know, then I’ll go add to the list):

  • February 27, 2008
  • February 28, 2008
  • March 2, 2008
  • March 6, 2008
  • March 12, 2008
  • March 13, 2008

Hahaha… feels like we all are buying lottery numbers and like wondering what number (date) will be coming out and seeing if we ‘chong’ or not, gosh.

Okay, never mind the tikam-ed dates.
How come the newspapers arr or TV arr (8 o’clock News) or MOE arr, haven’t released any news about SPM Results?
Bu ke neng they plan to keep mum until the day before results are out ne ma, horr? That’s not very er.. nice? And not to mention, unorganized.
I mean, shouldn’t there be like a system or something? …Y’know, prolly a public SPM Results announcement A WEEK before it actually comes out. That’d be nice and very much appreciated, wouldn’t you agree? =)

HR Memo

Haha... This is interesting. Am particularly fond of the "Toilet Use" section!

...The H.R. department, gotta hand it to them though. *scoffs*

To all Employees:

Dress Code

1. It is advised that you come to work dressed according to your salary. If we see you wearing Prada shoes and carrying a Gucci bag, we assume you are doing well financially and therefore do not need a pay raise.

2. If you dress poorly, you need to learn to manage your money better, so that you may buy nicer clothes, and therefore you do not need a pay raise.

3. If you dress just right, you are right where you need to be and therefore you do not need a pay raise.

Sick Days

We will no longer accept a doctor's certificate as proof of sickness.

If you are able to go to the doctor, you are able to come to work.

Holiday Days

Each employee will receive 104 personal days a year. They are called Saturdays & Sundays.

Compassionate Leave

This is no excuse for missing work. There is nothing you can do for dead friends, relatives or co-workers. Every effort should be made to have non-employees attend to the arrangements.

In rare cases where employee involvement is necessary, the funeral should be scheduled in the late afternoon. We will be glad to allow you to work through your lunch hour and subsequently leave one hour early.

Toilet Use

1. Entirely too much time is being spent in the toilet. There is now a strict three-minute time limit in the cubicles. (Oh and NO SMOKING. Only if you are the Boss.)

2. At the end of three minutes, an alarm will sound, the toilet paper roll will retract, the cubicle door will open and your picture will be taken.

3. After your second offence, your picture will be posted on the company notice board under the "Chronic Offenders" category.

4. Anyone caught smiling in the picture will be sanctioned under the company's mental health policy.

Lunch Break

1. Skinny people get 30 minutes for lunch, as they need to eat more so that they can look healthy.

2. Normal size people get 15 minutes for lunch to get a balanced meal to maintain their average figure.

3. Chubby people get 5 minutes for lunch, because that's all the time needed to drink a Slim-Fast or a bag of chips.

Thank you for your loyalty to our company. Remember we are an employer of choice and we are here to provide a positive employment experience.

Therefore, all questions, comments, concerns, complaints, frustrations, irritations, aggravations, insinuations, allegations, accusations, contemplations, consternation and input should be directed elsewhere.

Good Day!

All good things must come to an end

CNY 2008: Chor Yee (Go home day)

Ooo... Okay, Chor Yee doesn't literally mean "go home day" ya? It means "the second day of the lunar calendar". What I meant was that today's the day everyone goes 'back to reality'.

So saddddddddddd wei! It's the end of CNY liao! ='(
Nonetheless, we still managed to capture the last few moments together on cam' in still shots.

Shan and our handsome Father. Hehehe...

Ru and the number one man of her life, Dad.

Just us, all comfy... oh so comfy.

Alrightee now, let's do the 'Sexy-Ru'-pose... Ahahaha!
(What's wrong Shan? This pose ain't sexy 'nuff for you babe?)

This is 'Anna and Ru's poem. Heh! See... the short hair one is her and the long hair one is me! Wheeeeeeeh! Hope you'll too get inspired to share this simple yet compelling poem with someone you heart.

Y'know, on the last night before the day we had to return to Malaysia, Shan, Jon, Joanna and myself came across this guy wearing a T-shirt that reads:

"Don't cry because it's over but smile because it happened."

Guess that pretty much sums up how I feel about the whole trip and about my CNY 2008.

Once again, GONG HEI FATT CHOY to all those celebrating CNY! *wave*

"GONG HEI FATT CHOY!!"

CNY 2008: Chor Yatt

*chor yatt (first day of the lunar calendar)

"Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeh! Today's the day! Happy New Year! Happy New Year!"

Although we stayed up wayyyyyyyyy past our bed time last night just to ensure our parents live longer, we still woke up early that morning to Cham Cha (tea ceremony).

But before that, we had breakfast. Of course marr... How can we start off CNY without a nice home-y breakfast together?

"Yummy yummy..."

Meet the 'longevity buns' Aunt Ginny got us.
(So cute! But they look more like bunnies than they do mice horr?)

Meet MY very own longevity bun, Mr Snuggles… and rest of the food on my breakfast plate.

*Jeng jeng jeng* ...Finally, the cham cha session!

"Gong Hei Fatt Choy, Kong Kong."
"Thim fok, thim sao."

"Gong Hei Fatt Choy, Po Po."
"Thim fok, thim sao."

After that was the 'ang pow distribution' session! *wide grin* ........and photo taking session. Heh!

Ru, Aunt Mimi and Ben darling.

Ru and her much-loved cousin, Joanna.

Ru and her beloved Aunt Mimi.

Check out the super-smiley 'Choy San Ye'... Now tell me he ain't adorable!

Moments before we left for our CNY lunch at the Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore.
We decided to go in 'corporate wear'.

Yes... WE! Hehehe... Corporate wear is the theme this year.
Wonder what's next year's? Hmmm...

Ben, Bon, Addy, Jo, Ru and Kristie at Ritz-Carlton.

Not forgetting Jonathan and Shan on the other side of the table.
Hmmm, wonder where's Bryan?

Our supposedly rat-like Yee Sang.

...And the lobster we had with our Yee Sang.
Hence the dish name: Lobster Yee Sang.

After many other dishes, finally came the dessert: Bird's Nest.
In it also got chestnuts, dates and other good-for-the-body stuff.
"Yum yum indeed..."

Fun shot! Candid shot! =P

Ru and her adorable li'l cousin, Su Lin.
(She's such a doll isn't she? Literally.)

Ru hearts her family... very very much.

And the moment I’ve been waiting for… Family Photo Time!

.:Happy Family:.

Happy Family... gone wild!

Oh my gawd! Ahahaha...

The COUSINS.
(CHUP! Aiks! Again, where's Bryan ah?)
Nemind. Okay, okay... *ahem* We'll try to be serious now.

...Or not! Nyeh nyeh nyeh...

After that scrumptious lunch at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, we proceeded to Uncle TY's new loft over at Sentosa Cove.

The 'van crew'—haha!

Oh my goodness, the houses and cars there are 'chin swee' and can literally make you 'lao nua' wei! Hehehe...

The residence backyard... Check out the breeze bay-beh (baby)!

Imagine coming home to your loft in a boat or yacht...

"Honey, I'm home! Can you help me park my boat properly by the dock, darl'?"

Neat huh? Hehehe... Moving on... We left for home, nearer to the evening, to prepare for dinner.

"Girls just wanna have fun!"
(Ben, Amanda, Shan, Ru, Bonnie and Aunt Jackie.)

Ruru and her dearly loved cousin, Jon Jon.
*Sweetness*

Whoooooooooooooooooooooooh! What a eventful and fun-filled day! *Sighs in content and smiles to self*

CNY (Reunion Dinner)

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Oh my gawd! These have gotta be THE ONES! The posts that I myself have been meaning to release since the beginning of the year! (Yes, I am aware that CNY wasn’t in the beginning of the year. What I meant was that I just knew somehow that my CNY posts would be something I’d be anxiously waiting to blog about and the best part… it’d be filled with not many words but a WHOLE LOTTA pictures! ‘Cause like, visual, (excluding video), is the closest thing we have (through blogging) to the REAL thang, no? …The vibrant colors, the looks of the surrounding(s) and the oh-so-priceless facial expressions of the people in the photos? Nyeh nyeh nyeh… …Aiyah! Ru, you’re jabbering again! Seeeeeee… You’ve already drifted so far from your main point. Focus, Ru, focus!)

CNY 2008: CNY Eve

Shan darling and Ru in the MRT on the way to Vivo City.

Shan, Ru and Benette... "Sweetness!"

"Louuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!"
Celebrating Reunion Dinner in Tung Lok Restaurant.
(Yes, I was there... Seeeee, my arm! ...and watch! Hehe...)

This is what we, the cousins, hope for throughout the Year of the RAT!
(A good mix of all that at least. Hahaha...)

One of the dished served: lobster and meatballs.
"Sorry Mr Lobster, we had to eat you."
"If it's any consolation, you didn't die for nothing."
*guilty grin*

.:Joanna & Ru:.

'Na... my horse-y buddy! =P

O-kay... So generally larr right, we eat, eat, eat then laugh, laugh, laugh and talk, talk, talk throughout the entire dinner. Heh!

AFTER dinner, the whole family took a short walk upstairs to Ben & Jerry's for... I-C-E C-R-E-A-M!! Ooh-la-la... if it's B&J's, there's only one flavor I'd go for (I recommend to all y'all too):

"New York Super Fudge Chunk"
..."Mm mmm good!"

*Mouth watering*
"Ooo... please excuse me while I attend to my delectable ice cream."
"I'll be right back."

...
...
...
...

Sorry, where was I? Oh right! B&J's...

Told ju NYSFC was gooooooooooooooood stuff!
See how wide Shan is smiling after a taste of that yummy ice cream.

Meet Moo Moo the Cow** and her new friends, Shan and Ben. (Hahaha...)
(Oh and please don't laugh and point at Moo Moo** and go, "Oi! You cockeye eh!" That's just mean.)

Unfortunately, I was so into my ice cream that I forgot to take a picture with Moo Moo the Cow**... *Ru pouts... but only for a mere second. Hah!* But it's aight, there'll always be a next time, right? Er, hehehe...

Okay, how would you guys sum up today... in just one expression?
Shan: *happy smile*
Ru: Ooooooooooooooooo...

**Name used has been changed for safety purposes.

"...Okay, fine! So I don't know Moo Moo's, I mean, the cow's actual name. Heck, I don't know if it even HAS a name! Just felt like I had to give it a name lorr... It'd just be rude to keep on calling it, "(the) COW", no? Moreover, Moo Moo ain't half bad. I think it's a very nice and unique name for a cow, don't chu?"
